Amazon #1 Bestseller!
We all have that certain place that inspires us; that special place that gets our creative juices flowing and our imagination running wild. If I have a writing class, writing assignment, a chapter or an article of any sort, I go to my favorite relaxing spot to be calm, peaceful and inspired before the pen hits the paper. There is no better way to get past writer’s block than designating a quiet space, and surrounding yourself with what inspires you; music, scenery, ambiance, and smells, alike.
Whether it be sitting in the warm sand on a desolate beach, watching the waves come in and out; or it may be in a sacred space you have created in your home, filled with plants and a large, peaceful aquarium; maybe it is in the forest, where the breeze whispering through the trees is the only sound you hear – make a point to surround yourself with the environment that keeps your pen struggling to keep up with your brilliant ideas, thoughts and adventures.
Revisit this environment when it is time to begin writing, and train your mind to find solace in this space, to find comfort, and to be able to release all of your stresses from the work week. Forget your deadlines, let go of what angers you, forgive those who have caused you sorrow, and delve deeper into what soothes your entire being.
Some days your imagination will have different demands for you – some days you may appreciate the hustle and bustle of a small café in the city – wherever it may be, find yourself there, and allow the magic to happen. People sometimes forget that being an author not only consists of grammar, spelling, and words – the imagination is where it all begins. If you cannot spark that creativity and get your juices flowing, the rest will not follow. So, now that your imagination has been activated, where will you find yourself writing next?
