Writing rituals are triggers that will help get your creative juices flowing once you have created a safe, quiet environment to facilitate the time you need to focus on your book. Along with the candles, soft music, trees and open sky, or peaceful library you need to get started on your writing, try creating a ritual that will help ease you into the process as well. It can be clasping your hands and repeating a mantra; “My heart will bleed onto these pages and my story will unfold with ease,” or a repeat a goal, such as “I will finish three chapters today.” You can also try meditating on the vision you have for your book for five minutes, or clap your hands and say, “I am ready to inspire millions and become a success.”
Whatever actions and/or words resonate with you, once you reach your ideal physical environment, having a trigger sentence or action can help you reach your ideal mental state which will catapult you into readiness to create. Repeating this action or mantra each day, week, or month that you set time aside to focus on your book, will eventually become a mental trigger that will immediately start getting your creative juices flowing.
It is important to be positive, to believe in yourself, be excited about your decision to write this book, and have unlimited optimism about the outcome of this journey you are taking. Keep your focus on reaching your goals with your writing ritual, and before you know it, your very own book will be in your hands!
